Schneck Medical Center Named Among Nation's Top Hospitals by Forbes

Schneck Medical Center has been named one of the nation's top hospitals by Forbes, earning the highest possible five-star rating in the publication's 2026 hospital quality rankings.

The distinction places Schneck among an elite group of just 259 hospitals nationwide to earn a five-star overall quality rating from Forbes. Other Indiana hospitals receiving the honor include Ascension St. Vincent Fishers, Ascension St. Vincent Heart Center, Elkhart General Hospital, Franciscan Health Crawfordsville, Hendricks Regional Health, and MHP Major Hospital.

Forbes' inaugural Top Hospitals by State list recognizes hospitals that earned five-star ratings through the Forbes Top Hospitals 2026 evaluation, which measures performance in patient outcomes, hospital best practices, value, and patient experience using data from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Provider Data Catalog. Patient outcomes account for more than half of the overall score, reflecting Forbes' emphasis on quality clinical care.

"Being recognized among the top hospitals in the nation is a tremendous honor and a testament to the dedication of our physicians, nurses, caregivers, staff, and volunteers," said Eric Fish, MD, MBA, FACOG, President and Chief Executive Officer. "Every member of our team is committed to providing exceptional care and an outstanding experience for those we serve. This recognition reflects that commitment and the trust our community places in us."

The Forbes ratings were developed in collaboration with healthcare measurement experts and based on nationally recognized quality metrics. Approximately 5,400 U.S. hospitals were eligible for consideration, with just 259 receiving the highest five-star rating.

Schneck's inclusion among Indiana's highest-rated hospitals highlights the organization's ongoing focus on quality, safety, innovation, and patient-centered care.

"This recognition belongs to every member of the Schneck team," said Dr. Fish. "We are proud of what it represents, but even more proud of the compassionate care that inspired it. We remain committed to continually improving and delivering exceptional healthcare close to home."
